Enamel Serving Platter
The beautiful, decorative serving plate was carefully crafted from strong sheet steel. The original enamel coating is produced using a process that has been used for centuries. During this manufacturing process, the small air bubbles and flaking appear in the enamel coating - both essential key features of enamel products. The enamelling process of melting powder glass onto metal at around 800 degrees was first used in the 18th century.
The white plate with black, French print is classically provided with the fine, black line on the edges that is typical of enamel.
